Accommodations in Vinkeveen

Vinkeveen is a village in the municipality of De Ronde Venen with almost 10000 inhabitants, which is exactly between Amsterdam and Utrecht. In 1841, the municipalities of Vinkeveen and Waverveen were merged into the new municipality of Vinkeveen and Waverveen. This municipality existed until January 1, 1989 when it joined the municipalities of Mijdrecht and Wilnis in the new municipality of De Ronde Venen.

In the Catholic Heilig Hartkerk in Vinkeveen is an organ built in 1827 for the abbey church in Waverveen by the Utrecht organist Builder Wander Beekes. When the Holy Heart Church was ready, the organ was transferred thereafter.

Vinkeveen is especially famous for the Vinkeveense Plassen among recreationalists. There are often droughts, but also many dangers and sails. The water is one of the cleanest in the Netherlands. There are about twelve sandy beaches landed in the peaks. The islands 1, 2, 4 and 5 are accessible by a fixed shore connection. On Diving Island 4, a diving area has been deployed, which is popular for diving divers. To dive here, a license is required, which can be bought at the dive shop on zandeiland 4. The three peas are separated by the N201 (the provincial road) and the Baambrugse Zuwe, which many wealthy people live.

In total, Vinkeveen has ten national monuments, including the Holy Heart of Jesus (church) and its associated parsonage and the mill disaster of the Vinkeveensemolen or the Plasmolen.
